After many trail events  planting after a while .

Nov Sat 3

Sat Nov 3 : (9-2)

Typical PNW day especially in the mountains.
Volunteering, mostly rock work trail building .
Given entire road is built nicely, just the last section crossing over graveled bridge is not in condition at all for driving and good for no one.

Someone's umbrella was covering the backpack feels as if someone was sitting there. :)

May 5- Trail work building Turnpike

Sat : May 5 -( 8.30 - 3 )

Well site was changed as original site had some washout, building trail turnpike with nice group of ladies, some of us had worked on prior projects also together. The other group was doing some other work, building bridge & demolishing old one, had done that before couple times hence opted for building this.It was great doing: digging trenches using pickmatic, moving rocks sand, cutting through tree roots using handsaw and some other tools, placing logs, digging holes in logs using hand drill, pounding / hammering rebars, mccloud to clean duff on trail, leveling sand, pounding soil etc and some other things. Nice group of enthusiastic ladies ....

April 21:

Sat 21:- Arbor Day  (10-2)

Four some hours of filling mulch in buckets / wheelbarrows, building trail, some mulch rings for trees, etc.
May be we went through 3 different mounds of mulch .

Number of volunteers.

April 7:-

Sat: (9-2) :-Classic PNW day, It was supposed to be trail work but last minute changes, kind of rebuild and cleanup of fire rings, demolishing some, first time this kind of thing. Opposite to collecting dumped bunch of rocks , collected /spread soil in area , cleared ash and many other things involved.

Funny to say as if people were waiting because as we were leaving saw many tents set up and places occupied. Nice to see that. Please pick up all things before you leave site ( thanks)

Really good set of volunteers .

Sat Feb 3:

Sat (10 -2 ) Nice morning to volunteer, almost 4 hours of filling and hauling dirt .
Number of enthusiastic volunteers showed up.

Sat. 27:-

Nice windy rainy morning for couple hours of Planting trees.

Mt.Si - some cleanup

Sat 20: ( 9 to 2)

Classic PNW day, nice weather on MT. SI .....  Clouds rolling in, foggy sometimes, drizzle.
Hard hat day:
Clearing some buildup and creating drainage passages, discouraging people from shortcut trail routes: we ended up blocking some  and restoring the area. It will be really nice if people would stop creating them or using them as it causes lots of erosion.

If you are going to do the hike U already had planned for covering the said distance, if not for some reason you can not do it  just take a break or there is always next time, you don't need shortcuts. Together we all can  keep trails in good conditions and resources can be used for something else. Thanks for understanding.

Fri. 19 :-

Some parts of trail work:

Digging trenches,
Some sections were quite water filled ,we had to clear buckets of water before digging, carrying & laying logs ....
Well everyone is so occupied with getting things done, hardly anyone realizes to take pictures. Someone did and thanks to them for sharing.

During one event...
